Breast Cancer Awareness Look

This is a two in one blog posting! YAY!

I colored my hair pink last week and LOVE it! I used Manic Panic in Cotton candy pink. I found it at Sally's Beauty supply it was on sale for $8.99 CAN reg price is $12.99. I have never used this product before but I loved it! It did not bleed when I washed my hair and the directions are super easy to follow. I only did a few streaks around my face.
And here is the second posting a makeup look for Breast Cancer Awareness

I used a nice baby pink on my lids and a gold in my crease. Then I used some glitter and added it over top of the pink. Line eyes with liquid eyeliner. Apply a pink lip and bronzer to cheeks.

Clairol Natural Instincts Vibrant 10 Min Hair dye

I was a little nervous to dye my hair since becoming pregnant with all the wacky hormones I wasn't sure what color my hair would turn. But it looks amazing! I finally found a hair color that I love!
I bought Clairol Natural Instincts 10 Min Hair Dye in Number 9 (light blonde) from Walmart I'm not sure if it was on sale or not but it was $5.76. I always go cheap since I have to buy two boxes to dye my hair.
In the kit you receive Vibrant Creme Colorant, Color Activating Creme, Color Conditioning Treatment and a 2 week Color Fresh and two pair's of gloves.

I like the fact that it comes with a 2 week color fresh, Like the name suggests, Week 2 Color Refresher is designed to refresh your colour two weeks after you initially coloured, before the usual fade can get you down. Use gloves to apply it in the shower post-shampoo, let it sit for five minutes, then rinse.
This isn’t just another dose of the same hair dye, though. Instead, it’s a semi-permanent toner that replenishes the tones that fade first from your chosen shade.
How great is that! Know you don't have to spend a fortune on hair dye as often!

Here are all the color's that the brand carries.

So here is my hair before and after ( my roots were the worst)

My hair is so soft and looks more healthier.
The formula is a 10 min hair dye which I love I hate waiting over 20 mins for hair dye. It also is a thicker dye so it doesn't drip as much. They suggest you do your roots or grey hair first, giving it time to match the rest of your hair once the color is on, I can't even tell that I had dark roots like I usually do with another brand.

I just love when you dye your hair and goodbye roots hello beautiful!

Just a note make sure you buy the box with silver, the other box is a semi-permanent color.

Hair dying with Momma

When Mom and I were out shopping the other day, she told me that she wanted to go back to her natural hair color and to remove the blonde, I think she finally fell in love with her grey hair. So we searched and searched. We found a color that we both agreed on but the store only had one box and none in stock! so we had to keep looking and landed with Garnier Nutrisse Cream. Silly me didn't remember the color of dye we bought! The number is 43.

Part hair into four sections to color roots first.

Here are some tips that I learnt in my schooling and many many years of dying hair.
To color your hair you need:
Hair coloring kit
Wide-tooth comb
Latex gloves
Vaseline

Apply Vaseline all over your forehead, ears, and neck. No one likes a colored face! The hair color will wipe off easy without staining.

Colored applied to the roots.

Section your hair into 4, straight back and then by your ears. Take a inch section's of hair and apply your color to your roots leave on for 10 mins (25 mins if just for the roots), then you are going to apply the hair color the the rest of your hair. I like to start at the bottom on the head and work upwards. (whatever you find easy do it) I still take 1 inch sections and apply color all over and use my fingers to blend it into the hair.  After you apply your color to your whole head. You can use a shower cap or a plastic bag and cover your head. Leave on for the time length given usually 25 mins.

All colored! Looking really brown.

After your time is finished rinse out, but DO NOT WASH WITH SHAMPOO! Once water runs clear, apply the conditioner and leave on for 2-5 mins. Rinse with 'Cold' water to close the cuticle to keep your color from fading. You will notice your hair fading after you wash it a few days later, it would be a good idea to buy a color protection product. I like the pantene colored solutions.
Momma all finished. I have never seen her with dark hair or I can't remember if I have. She reminds me of my little sister and no the product was not a 100% grey coverage, you can still see a few but that's what she was going for.
