Month of May Haul

So I'm going to be posting one haul at the end of every month, instead of boring you the whole month with a few items. I will be doing reviews on everything so I won't be saying much about the products until I use them more.

I bought them both at walmart

Banana Bread

I love banana bread, but the only time I make it is when my banana's go black, so I always try to save 3 before they get eaten.
It's the same recipe my mom uses, but her's always taste better.
Here is the recipe
1/2 cup Margarine or 1/2 cup applesauce- unsweetened
1 cup White sugar
2 Eggs
3 Bananas- Mashed
1 1/3 cup White Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
pinch of salt ( I don't use salt)

Mix your margarine or apple sauce with sugar and eggs. Add your mashed bananas to your mixture. Add the flour, b.soda and b. powder, mix until everything is combined, if it looks really wet, add a little more flour.
Add to grease loaft pan or lined muffin pan.
Bake at 350 F for 1 hour, or until toothpick comes out clean.
Enjoy!

Newly Discovered- Kootenay Bath Products

Kootenay Bath Products was started from a Mom of 2 beautiful children. When other products from store's were getting to expensive she started making her own bath products. She does not use chemicals and tries to use plant based materials. Everything she makes is natural so it's healthy for you and your skin. She is based out of British Columbia, Canada

Let me tell you these products smell and feel amazing!!
Bath Melts- You can add a small chunk to your bath or shower, or if you want just take the bar and massage into your skin.
I love this bar! It's so soft, I just massage it into my skin, I have a jet tube and can't use any oils in it. It leaves your skin soft without feeling greasy.
$10 for 12 bars!

Whipped Body Butter- Comes in 2oz and 4oz jars. It leaves your skin freshly scented and oh-so-soft.
This body butter is so amazing and it's whipped! It's nice and light and absorbs into your skin very quickly, does not feel greasy and the sent last's quit awhile.
$4-6

Bubble Bath Salt- Comes in a 1lb bag. Great for relaxing made with dead sea salt.
This bubble bath salt is so neat! It's a bubble bath and bath salt's all in one. It actually forms bubbles in the tub. The scent stay's throughout the entire bath and you can smell it on your skin afterwards.
$6

Shower Gel/Bubble Bath (Champagne)- Comes in a 4oz and 8oz bottle.
This smells like sprite pop. It's hard to explain but it just smells all fizzy. Smells amazing and gives nice bubble's in the tub, I only used it as a bubble bath and I only used a little and it works way better then the store bought stuff.
$6

Fountain of youth facial cream- Comes in a 1.5 oz jar.
This cream is high in vitamines to help rebuild and repair cells. The vitamin "C" that is present in the Rosehip and avocado oils will help with age spots and dark circles under the eyes.
I only used it a few times and my skin started to dry out. So I stopped using it. But it is a light moisturizer and smells like geranium. I might give it to my mom to try and see if it works better on her skin.
$8

Peppermint Foot Cream- Comes in 2oz and 4oz jar.
Rich, non greasy cream that will moisturize dry rough skin.
I can't get over how well this cream works! My heels are really rough and I seen a difference in two uses! Mike has noticed too when I try to cuddle in bed. It is a very strong peppermint smell, but it's on the feet anyway. This reminds me of what I used in the day spa, it's nice and smooth and cooling.
 $4-6

Dead Sea Mineral Mud Mask- Comes in 2oz and 4oz jar.
The Dead Sea is the most saline body of water in the world with a concentration of 32% minerals. A total of 21 different minerals are found in the Dead Sea, 12 of which are not found in any other body of water.
I use to use this when I was in school and loved it and was really glad to try it again. It has so many wonderful properties for your skin. It dries within 10 mins and don't use a new facecloth to remove it, it will stain it. My skin feels so nice and has a glow to it. It doesn't really have a smell to it and doesn't smell like mud. $8-9
You can find all these wonderful products at Kootenay- Etsy or Kootenay- Website
You can also find her on Facebook and Twitter.
Her shipping is amazing and super fast! If you have any question's about her product you can contact her through etsy or her website.
So go and try some Kootenay Bath Products and experience it for yourself, you'll be hooked!
(These were all sent to me and I have given my true opinion on each product and would only tell you the truth of each product. I was not paid to do this review.)

Review- Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer
A heavy duty multi-use concealer that provides ultimate coverage.
Formula blends flawlessly into skin. Hide everything from dark circles and blemishes to tattoos.

Comes in three shades, light, medium, dark in a 0.71 oz tube, this will last you a long time! You DON'T need alot of this product to cover dark circles or blemishes. A little will go a long way. But it may be to thick for covering the dark circle I would use the pencil.
I like how it comes with a pencil and the tube of concealer.

Now for the tattoo covering it works well but my fiancee has lighter skin tone so keep that in mind while looking at the photos.

Before we started to cover
And after: To Hide Tattoos- Line edge with pencil and fill in with concealer you many need 2-3 layers, cover with a matte powder.
We used 3 layers and I'm sure if it was the lighter shade it wouldn't look so bad, but it does cover.
After we washed the concealer off with a makeup remover cloth, it's so thick that if you were to do a bigger tattoo you may be washing it off for a while

My Rating Scale 1-5 1-the worst, 5-the best
Quality- 4
Packaging- 4.5 I love the design on the box and product
How long does it stay on- All day
Would I buy it again- Yes in the lighter shade
Price- $5.98 CAN
Overall- It's a great concealer to cover a tattoo but it might be to thick to use for dark circles you might want to use the pencil for the face
Where to buy- Walmart

DIY- Ring Holder

It is simple to make
All you need is a
wooden dowel- depends on the thickness you want
a piece of wood- doesn't really matter what kind
hand saw
drill with bit
spray paint

All you do
Cut your dowels to any length you want. Then decide on the size you want your piece of wood to be, I left enough room in between them, so I can take them off easier.
Then you want to see where you want your dowels to go, I went in a inch on either side, drill your hole but don't go all the way through. Then just push them in if you want use your hammer and tap them in.
Sand the edges of the wood and spray paint.
It will look somewhat like this.

Now my rings wont be lying around. My next task is a earring holder.

Alberta up in Flames

So fire season has started in April, but what we didn't know was how bad it was gonna get!
As of April 2011 Alberta has recorded 459 wildfires, which have burned 191,896.40 hectares. In the last 24 hours, there have been 10 new wildfire starts. Alberta currently has 87 wildfires: 23 are out of control, 14 are being held, 40 are under control, and 10 have been turned over. With winds hitting upto 100km and never knowing what direction they are gonna go.

But the worst was the fire that took 40% of Slave Lake.

Over 10,000 people in the Slave Lake area including the town had to be evacuated, the roads were closed so no one was aloud in the town. This is the worst in Alberta's history that a fire took a town out.
If you want more info you can click Slave Lake Fires and read what the resident's had to say while they were leaving.

The only thing the resident's and fire crew can relate to what they saw is a war zone, everything is burned, while some houses across the street were untouched while some burned, nothing left but the basement foundation.
While there are still fire's burning in Alberta none compare to this one. We are hoping for some rain and not the little shower's we have been getting and none of us like to see lighting because we never know what is gonna burn next.
A complete fire ban is in effect across the province except in cities which I think is stupid, it should be for everyone!
This is what it looks like at my parent's house they are 2 1/2 hours north of me and are closer to the fires. You can read her blog entry here Mom's Blog.
It's so dry I'm scared to cut my grass in case I run over a rock and it creates a spark.

Review- St. Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Scrub

This has to be one of the best scrub's I have tried in all my life!!
I found this when I bought the cleanser in Walmart for $4.77.
I use this daily in the evening and my skin is so soft afterwards. The scrub is way better then the Apricot scrub, this scrub has micro srubbers, it's perfect for sensitive skin. It doesn't burn or feel like your scrubbing your skin off.
It has the same smell as the cleanser, and come is a tube.
I even used it as a mask and left it on for 10 mins and my skin looked healthier and a few of my blemishes went down in size.

My Rating Scale 1-5 (1-the worst 5-the best)
Quality- 5
Packaging- 5
How long does it stay on- you can leave it on for 10 mins or wash it off right away

Would I buy it again- YES
Price- $4.77 CAN

Overall- This is a perfect scrub for sensitive skin or people who don't like harsh scrubs
Where to buy- I found mine at Walmart, but wherever St. Ives is sold
(It may not be available in every country you may have to wait like I had too)
