New Year Resolutions

This is my last post for 2010!!! Can't believe how fast the year has gone by.

I've been thinking about my Resolutions for the upcoming year, I want them to be more practical and not far fetch dreams.

1. Limit the buying of makeup in a month. I think I can handle this. Maybe at the beginning and the end of the month.
2. Start eating healthy and start working out daily. This one I have to I have a wedding dress to look good in for June! I have the wii active game, and some Tae Bo video's that I love it's just finding time.
3. Be more positive and less negative. Not that I am negative all the time, but when it comes to myself I am very negative.
4. Try to get my spa started in my house!
5. Get married finally after 3 years of post ponding!

What are your resolutions? Are you going to try to follow them?

Happy New Year!! Have a safe and happy 2011!

My Favorite Brushes

Left to Right
Slanted Liner, Blending, Eye Shadow, Eyelash & Brow Wand, Med Precision, Fan, Blush, Powder

The reason these are my favorite brushes:
Slanted Liner - Is great for using with cream eyeliner, I have a good control with this brush
Blending- It is big enough for my crease and does a great job at blending in my E/S together
Eye Shadow- Picks up the color great and applies it really well, when my blending brush is dirty this works well to blend. I also use this for my highlighter.
Eyelash & Brow Wand- It does a beautiful job at combing my eyebrows, I think everyone should have one of these brushes.
Med Precision- I use this to apply my E/S to my outer V and apply E/S to my lower lash line, It's small enough that it doesn't pick up alot of product which is good for the lower lash line.
Fan- Great for removing the fall out from your eyes. Or I use it to contour my cheeks and forehead.
Blush- I like the dome shape to this brush, it applies color perfect to my cheeks. I also use it for my bronzer
Powder- This brush it awesome for applying your powder, you can sweep it on or dap the powder on my face. This brush is so soft!

(e.l.f brushes- Blending, Eyeshadow, Wand, Fan, Powder) The other three I got from school I don't know the name, but you can find those brushes almost anywhere.

What are your favorite brushes to use?

e.l.f Minty Lip Gloss Review

Top- Houston, Bottom- New York city

Left- New York city, Right- Houston
If your not a mint fan then these are not for you! It's not to strong but you can sure smell it. The website says

"The sheer glossy color conditions lips with a minty fresh taste. Can be worn alone or layered with other lip products. Give your lips a beautiful sheen and freshen your breath for instant gratification."

Freshen your breath while you wear it! Now that is something new, I couldn't help but laugh when I read that.
They are a very sheer color, they work best when applied over top of a lipstick. I love the New York City color. I'm gonna be wearing that for my Bachelorette party (Sex and the City Theme)
You get alot of product with this gloss, and the packaging is really neat.
The mint helps to plump up your lips, for that full look.
Here are the other colors that elf sells.
Seattle, Nashville, Miami, Los Angeles, Boston, New York City, Chicago, Houston, San Diego

I love the names of the lip glosses! Maybe they should do names for other countries too!

My Rating (1-5 1- the worst, 5- the best)
Quality- 5
Packaging- 5
How long does it stay on- 4.5
Would I buy it again- YES!
Price- $3 (studio line)
Overall- It is a good lip gloss to go over a lipstick, but is a great for a sheer look to

Audrey Hepburn Look

I love breakfast at tiffany's and Audrey Hepburn!!
For this look I used e.l.f cream eyeliner in black and 100 palette, lipstick in classy
This look is really easy.
You want a nude color all over your lid
Dark Brown in your crease
Highlighter under your brow
Fill in your brows Audrey Hepburns start Big and go Small, but if you don't have full brows do the best you can.
Apply your cream eyeliner, starting in the inner eye working outwards and make a wing. You want your eyeliner to arch in the middle of your lid, we are trying to stay away from Arabic eyeliner look. Apply white eyeliner on your lower water line. It will make your eyes look bigger. If you want you can apply false eyelashes or apply 3 coats of mascara.
You want a rosy cheek and not alot of contouring. Finish with a soft nude/pink lip.
Finished now you have a Audrey Hepburn look! Enjoy

3. Rimmel Natural Bronzer 021 SUN LIGHT. This bronzer is perfect for year round. It has a very very small amount of shimmer. I use to contour my cheeks, it looks so natural.

4. e.l.f Mineral Eyeshadow Primer. This was the first eye primer that I ever used. I works great on my oily lids. My eyeshadow has never creased, and stays on all day!

7. Blush Baby Mineral Pigment. These pigments are smooth and silky and the color pay off is great! You get alot of product in the little container.

8. Annabell SkinTrue Foundation- Nat Ivory. This foundation gives me a matte finish and is great for my oily and dry skin. I get great coverage from this product.

9.  Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer. I only apply this to the areas that have the most breakout so my chin, nose and forehead. It's very moisturizing and dries out the pimples at the same time. I noticed a big difference using it.

10. Loreal Sublime Bronze One Day. This was my go to summer bronze product. I love it because it washes of the next day and you can see where you applied the color. Doesn't make you look orange. I love that it has a pump and not a squeeze tube. Great for special occasions.

e.l.f Studio Tinted Moisturizer VS Essential Tinted Moisturizer

Left- Essential Moisturizer, Right- Studio Moisturizer

Cost: $1.00
Shades:

Ivory, Lt. Beige, Apricot Beige, Honey, Spice, Toffee, Rosy Beige

Studio Tinted Moisturizer
This lightweight and hydrating formula is breathable and provides anti-aging sun protection with UVA/UVB SPF 20. Achieve even skin tone and naturally radiant skin with this moisturizing sheer tint of color. The smooth formula enhances your complexion with the nourishing key ingredients Aloe, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E.
Ingredients
ACTIVE: Benzophenone-3, Ethylhexyl Isopalmitate, Titanium Dioxide.
INACTIVE: Water, Mineral Oil, Cyclomethicone, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Propylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Steareth-21 Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-2, Glyceryl Stearate, Xanthan Gum, Methylparaben, Propylparabem, Tocopherol(VE), Retinyl Acetate(VA), Ascorbyk Palmitate(VC), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, MAY CONTAIN: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)

Cost: $3.00
Shades:
Porcelain, Nude, Beige, Sand, Almond, Mocha, Espresso

They both share some ingredients- Benzophenone- 3, Titamnium dioxide, Water, Xanthan Gum, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Iron Oxides (C177491, C177492, C177499)

They both blend into the skin really good, leaving a matte finish, they only thing is the Essential line leaves the orange smell it dulls with time. Studio line has no lingering smell.

Each line has 7 colors to choose from, the Studio line has a better selection. It took me three different tries from the Essential line to find a color that matches my skin and I have to mix two shades together.

The Essential line is thicker then the Studio. The Essential has more coverage then the Studio. I really like how the Studio has SPF 20, while the Essential still has a SPF but it's only a 15 (still better then none).

The Studio has 0.7 oz of product and the container doesn't come full. The Essential doesn't say how much you get but the container is full. They both are a screw cap and a squeeze tube.

I really like the Studio line because of the no orange smell and the SPF 20, but the lack of product in the oversize tube is kinda disappointing, and it's only $3
I really like the Essential line because it has better coverage, you get a full container of product and it's only a $1.

I hope this helps you with each tinted moisturizer. Each one has their good and bad points but this is what I find, you could be different.

My colors are Studio- Nude, Essential- Rosy Beige

Is it really Cheap Makeup??

You don't need to spend a fortune on makeup. Cheap makeup can be great quality too!
Many brands tell us that their makeup is the only quality makeup on the market. Such as MAC, Stila, Sephora, etc. Making us more cautious about 'Cheap' makeup brands.
I have found many brands that work in my budget, and the quality is great! I won't buy any makeup that is over $10! I'm the 'cheapest' person on the planet!! The only time I buy drugstore makeup is if it's on sale for a really good price.
Here are some websites that I have found that sell great makeup for a great budget
blushcosmetics
Coastal scents
elf cosmetics  elf cosmetics uk
Cherry Culture
Beauty Choice
And Ebay!

I hope that my reviews help you to know that 'cheap' makeup is just as great!

Christmas FOTD

 Merry Christmas!!!

Have a safe Christmas everyone.

e.l.f corrective concealer and complexion perfection

Complexion Perfection

Complexion perfection

Corrective concealer

Corrective concealer

Complexion Perfection
Create a balanced and radiant complexion that is beautiful and healthy. The lightweight formula evens out the skin tone and absorbs excess oil. The sheer formula brightens, mattes and neutralizes the skin. The colors are meant to be blended together as the Blue neutralizes orange, the Green neutralizes red, the Pink neutalizes grey and the Yellow brightens and neutralizes red.

Blend all colors together and apply all over your face before foundation. I never seen a difference when I did it. So I always apply them seperate wherever I need them. This isn't a 'Must Have' product.

Corrective concealer
Conceals under-eye darkness, blemishes and other skin imperfections with customized coverage. Brightens under-eye circles and neutralizes redness. Convenient size for on-the-go travel.
Use the nude and beige shades to conceal problematic areas. Use the green shade to neutralize redness like that of acne and the lilac shade to brighten yellow tones. I really like this product, it covers the redness really well. I apply this before foundation. You have to make sure you blend it in well or you can see the colors.

So if you were to get either product I would just buy the corrective concealer. It works way better then the powder.

Music + Makeup

I always have music playing in the house. But I always have it going when I am applying my makeup. It just gets me in a good mood for the day. I mostly listen to dance/club music and you should see lil mr. shabby bust a move hahaha.
Here is a playlist that I listen to when I apply my makeup.

What songs do you listen to? How do you get in a good mood for the day?

e.l.f Studio Tinted Moisturizer review

Nude
From e.l.f's website
This lightweight and hydrating formula is breathable and provides anti-aging sun protection with UVA/UVB SPF 20. Achieve even skin tone and naturally radiant skin with this moisturizing sheer tint of color. The smooth formula enhances your complexion with the nourishing key ingredients Aloe, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E.

Left to Right- Porcelain, nude, beige, sand, almond, mocha, espresso
This moisturizer is perfect for mature skin, those who don't like wearing alot of coverage.
The color matches really good with my natural color, but I don't like it because I have blotchy skin and acne on my chin. So it doesn't do much for me.
It doesn't leave my skin oily, but my dry patches around my nose really come out, even with a moisturizer underneath.
But overall this is a great product for a sheer look.
When I opened my packaging the clear window was empty. I had to shake it. So you don't even get a full container of product, maybe only half. Which is a bummer.

My rating (scale 1-5 1- the worst, 5- the best)
Quality- 4.5
Packaging- 3
How long does it stay on- 3.5
Would I buy it again- maybe once my skin clears up, or for makeup on mature skin
Price $3 USD
Overall- It is a nice product with a SPF 20 which is great for the summer months, but if you want more coverage I would waste your time buying this.
Where to buy- e.l.f Canada/USA
